You know the common feelings… LONELY. RESENTFUL. ANGRY. JEALOUS. We want HARMONIOUS. HAPPY. CONNECTED.

Developing and maintaining a close intimate relationship over a long period of time is hard. As a couple, the “chemistry” we had at the beginning can easily fade, and then we have a whole new set of adjustments to make. As a parent or child, we face the challenges of a constantly changing dynamic of dependence/independence. Friendships also have their highs and lows.

Bringing your authentic self

Common to your healing in these relationships is learning to bring the ‘me’ that is aware of my thoughts and feelings and able to express them clearly without blaming, shaming or guilting others to achieve my desired ends.  The ‘me’ that can take responsibility for my actions, say ‘yes’ and ‘no’ to maintain my balance, and not feel guilty when I’ve done nothing wrong.  The “me” that can recognize my own weaknesses, ask the forgiveness of others, and extend it too.

But what if I’m the only one doing anything?

You can change your own experience and the relationship, even if you’re the only one initially changing.

Don’t keep going through life lonely and disconnected! If YOUR relationships could use some improvement – bringing you less stress, greater peace and lots of joy – let’s work on them together!
