Enjoying the life-changing work of helping people through therapy has been a second career for me for over 20 years! I also have a background in healthcare administration; while that too was satisfying in many ways, I have painfully felt the stressors of dysfunctional bosses, budget cuts, managing people, corporate bureaucracy, long commutes, and extremely long hours.
Spiritual matters are very often part of therapy. I work with clients of any or no faith backgrounds; however, I am a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor. This means I have been trained to appropriately integrate Biblical teaching with psychological science and method. This allows me to help you apply Christian faith to your life. We can work with your pastor as needed, or I can help connect you with one. Be assured, especially in this sensitive area, you are in the lead. We talk about what it means to you to incorporate faith into your therapy.
For my own renewal, I most enjoy being outside, preferably at the beach in the summertime! Anywhere else in beautiful warm nature is also great – hiking, walking, or just soaking it up. Otherwise, I’m either lost in conversation with friends or family, relaxing with yoga, or curled up with a good book. I am married and have a wonderful young adult son.
